Two Sisters of Life will profess final vows at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica this Saturday, July 16 – the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Cardinal Thomas Collins will be the main celebrant and homilist.

Sr. Jeanne Marie, SV, was missioned to Toronto in the fall of 2021. She was born in Malaysia and later moved to Auckland, New Zealand. She graduated from the University of Auckland with a degree in mechanical engineering and worked as an International Travel Consultant prior to entering the Sisters of Life.

Sr. Avelina Joseph, SV, was also missioned to Toronto in the fall of 2021. She was born in the Philippines and raised in Vancouver, B.C. She graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.

Sisters take the traditional vows of poverty, chastity and obedience – as well as a fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life.

The profession of perpetual vows will be livestreamed via the St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica website: https://www.stmichaelscathedral.com/live/ with Marian preludes at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.
